About the band... Who cares, right?
The band members Jordan Hill, Mike Zaccaro and Dayne Laskey first met in 2005 at an open-mic night held at the Voodoo Grill in Mystic, Connecticut, where lead singer/guitarist Jordan was playing blues and surf rock. The three (all under 18 years of age) "immediately felt a chemistry" and formed a blues inspired rock group called The Supertones, which included drummer Tim Atherton and slide/guitarist and singer Alex Wernquest. The Supertones quickly became a local success, playing gigs throughout the state and winning the preliminary regional finals of the Connecticut Blues Society Challenge. In 2006 the band developed an active following at the University of Connecticut, where Mike and Dayne attended school; this move also saw the addition of drummer Eric Zaccaro (Mike's younger brother). Armed with a plethora of newly recorded original tracks, the group proceeded to win UConn's annual Battle of the Bands two years in a row (2006, 2007). In 2009 the band took a break, to "focus on school", but joined forces again in 2010, this time with the addition of singer and guitarist Luke Gabordi. With renewed vigor, the band not only changed it’s name to People Sounds, but changed it’s direction entirely. Blending catchy melodies with inspired songwriting, and combining rich vocal textures with tight sonic grooves, People Sounds are only beginning their musical journey.
